andhra-bankCVR Rajendran began his illustrious banking career in Corporation Bank in 1978. He worked as Branch Manager in various Rural, Urban, and Metro Branches from the year 1985 to 1996 and headed Industrial Finance Branch at New Delhi & Bengaluru. He worked as Zonal Manager of Maharashtra Zone and was in charge of Managing Director, Corp Bank Securities, Mumbai during 2004 to 2006. Next he took up as Dy.General Manager, Investment & International Banking and Collection & Payment services from 2006 to 2008.

He was elevated as General Manager of IIBD in May 2008 and worked as General Manager, Information Technology Division from May 2011 to February 2012.

Rajendran was appointed as Executive Director Bank of Maharashtra on 01st March 2012.

Rajendran is a passionate banker with rich experience of more than three decades in various capacities in versatile area spanning from Rural Banking to International Banking, Investment Banking, Merchant Banking, SSI/SME/Agricultural Lending, Industrial Finance, Commercial Lending, Infrastructure Financing & Information Technology. During his eventful career, he has received several accolades and prestigious Awards like Chairman’s Club Membership, Super Productivity Award, SOGian Award, Millennium Award and Best Branch Award.

He took over as Chairman and Managing Director of Andhra Bank on 13th December 2013. During this short span Sri Rajendran has brought about an organizational overhaul and created new nine zones outside Bank’s home turf to accord a pan India character to the Bank followed by a massive Branch expansion beyond Andhra Pradesh. During the financial year Bank under his leadership plans to open 500 Branches with on-site ATMs. He put thrust on growth of MSME sector through launching of new scheme and also by empowering the grassroots delivery channel through delegation of lending decision making. A tech-savvy workaholic, Shri Rajendran ingrained a culture of promoting alternative delivery channels and reduction of turnaround time in branch transactions. As motivator par excellence, Sri Rajendran’s significant contribution to Bank is to motivate the staff to give their best by way of showing them the shortcomings and problems they face while simultaneously demonstrating the ways to surmount such obstacles.

Rajendran has earned an enviable name in the Banking circle in India as an outstanding orator and analyst on topics related to Banking and finance. He attends various Seminars, Symposium being organized by RBI’s Research Wing, CAFRAL, National Institute of Banking Management and various fora as distinguished speaker and Panelist.
